Determine Body Type to live in harmony with days, seasons, earth and universe
When you are in balance you are in sync with all these cycles; free of cravings, refreshed, sleeping well, free of stress. (Remember stress is related to 80% of all health concerns)
Vata = winter: Foods need to be high in protein and fat for insulation
Kapha = spring: Foods need to have lower fat as in fresh spring greens, sprouts, detox foods
Pitta = summer: Foods must be high energy from fruit and veggie sources. The time of harvest
12 hour cycles control your body regardless of type
6-10 am Muscle strength Kapha reigns Protein, light fat
10-2 Digestive system Pitta Largest Meal Carbs for sustained energy
2-6pm Nervous system Vata The brain craves blood sugar
6-10 pm Body is relaxed (or should be) calming down, tired, getting ready for sleep
10-2 am Liver is detoxing Need to be sleeping with NO eating
2-6am Nervous system is waking up the body.
Main health concerns are related to toxic air, environment, processed foods. All these bring acidity into the body, sometimes masked as allergies. ***Our bodies are alkaline by design***
Stress and Detox
Increased stress causes us to store fat (increased stress hormone cortisol), create more sugar, store more fat. The cycle is endless. This denies the body the opportunity to return to an alkaline state, burn toxins and fat. The lymphatic system is static and becomes overloaded with toxins such as free radicals. Etc

How do we Detox?
Eat with the seasons to detox spring and fall.
Winter: Soups, stews, nuts, proteins, fats.
Spring: Greens, sprouts, berries.
Summer: High energy fruits and veggies.
End of summer: Apples, pomegranates and harvest of the season.
A Daily Routine
Drink a large glass of warm water
Wash hands face, brush teeth and scrape the tongue

6 meals a day does not give your body a chance to burn fat, it is constantly digesting!
4 Day Detox to clear the Lymphatics and Burn Fat
Everyday sip warm or hot water every 10 to 15 minutes throughout the day. Purified or boiled is the best. This helps to move, flush the lymphatics.
Every am skin brushing and oil massage before shower. Sesame Oil for all body types
Every pm detox with an Epsom salts bath.
Meditate 5 to 15 minutes to decrease stress. Breathe deeply in and out nasally for a minute to calm the CNS. Use Bellows breaths, Ocean breaths, Gentle circular breaths into the heart and up the spine releasing out the top of the head, Alternate nostril breathing. .
TAKE CALM WITH YOU INTO YOUR DAY.
Diet: Clarified butter or Ghee at breakfast and lo fat or no fat the rest of the day. This causes you to burn fat stores.
Eating for Detox: Use all 6 tastes (decrease craving) Bitter, Pungent, Stringent, Sweet, Sour, Salt. For example: grapefruit with honey, radishes, peppers, cucumbers, something spicy, leafy greens
Evening of day 4. ½ to 1 cup of prune juice as a laxative to detox process toxins through bowels.
YOUR BODY WILL DETOX AND YOU WILL LOSE MORE WEIGHT, BURN MORE FAT IF YOU ARE CALM AND RELAXED.
15 minute YOGA for Detox
Deep ocean breaths to calm the CNS. Nasal breathing alkalizes the blood
Lymph pump: compress/pump up the legs, arms, head to heart
Hold the knees and lying down roll side to side 5 X’s (this opens the channels between the ribs to increase the pumping of lymph.
Butterfly pose on back: 2 minutes (soles of feet together, knees open, arms overhead holding elbows) This releases the adductor muscles of the inner thigh as the pelvis opens. * most important lymph moving muscles in the lower body*
Rocks forward and back: holding knees 10 X’s releasing the ribs and spine May use hands to toes
Pelvic or back twist for 1 min each side: Knees to chest, arms out to side, knees to side. Repeat on other side. (For the lymph held in the intestinal cavity. This stretches the abdominals, ribs, spine and low back relieving lymphatic congestion. Also helps drain the lymph we recognize as cellulite deposits.)
Right angle pose: 1 minute Arms along sides, legs directly straight up toward ceiling. May use a strap if you wish.
Downward facing dog: 1 minute Push through the hands, relax the head, allow heels to stretch toward the mat. Opens the pelvis, abdomen, ribs, moving lymph up into the chest toward the heart.
Forward bending pose: 1 min. Relax the back. Let your head hang, knees straight, touch toes or hold elbows
Hands up to Sun salute: 1 min. Look up. Concentrate on lengthening your whole body. Breathe deeply as this drains stagnant lymphatic fluid around breasts and under arms.
Warrior pose with hands overhead: 1 min strength building
Forward bending pose with hands on hips: 2 minutes breathing deeply to calm CNS into where you feel the stretch, increases effects of lymph drainage and detox.
Corpse pose: sink into silence
